Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout was a game build to take the world by the storm. It was developed by a small indie team known as mediatonic. The game was published by epic games during the end of the summer of 2020. From the first ever trailer the game instantly caught the eye of plenty of players across the globe as
the marketing team did a fantastic job of making an interesting trailer full of wacky and glumpsy moments. Upon it's release the game sky-rocketed as everybody was playing it, or atleast watched others playing it. The game produced plenty of views and thus its became an instant hit for streamers. The game's success was also
shown during the end of 2020 when the awards companies announce their winners. Fall guys was nominated in plenty of categories from plenty of companies showing that it managed to capture the interest of everyone. Despite the ammount of nominations the game had it only manage to win a few such as,

The game's support came in many forms such as multiple collaborations where the player can equip costumes based on their beloved characters. The team responsible for their community on social media always enjoy making funny posts and also acknowledging posts made by fans whether or not they re normal, funny or bizzare. Moreover,
the team loves to invite people (their fans) in testing servers in order for them to provide feedback with what they did good or bad. Furtermore at the end of each season, the team shares a querry asking the players as to what they like such as which new gamemmode, the quality/quantity of team tasks and others such as what tasks should
they be adding/removing.
What is Fall Guys?
Have you ever heard of the old TV show called Wipe out?? well this what fall guys offers. Fall guys is a battle royale game but unlike the other ones the game does not revolve around shooting your opponents but instead out playing/pacing them in multiple platforming challenges. 60 players are placed within a small arena with the goal of reaching the finishing goal
within a certain time limit or before the finite ammount of qualifiers is reached. If the players fail to qualify it means that they re dissqualiffied and that they should restart. The task of the player is to qualify through all the tasks and then finish first in the finals by surviving the platforms or outrun the opponents and capture the golden crown
that everyone is here for. Capturing the crown, declares the owner the winner. The game offers a single player where the players re in for themselves or in Multiplayer where the player is teamed up with a four others in order to win as a group. In team sections when a teammate qualifies, they earned teampoints. Each time there's a limited ammount of teams
that can qualify and these teams re judged by the points that they earned. If a team has three teammates qualified they can still win if a team with 4 qualify as long as they are among the first to qualify.
The Tasks!
As mentioned the goal is to simply outperfomed the others within a map but that is a very vague explanation. The goal of the game is reach the final and win. In order to qualify all the way to the finals the player needs to survive four rounds as the finals is always the fifth round. There are a few exceptions that can make the finals appear as early as the second -4rth round.
The finals can be triggered early on as long as many people fail to qualify from early on. For example, there have been cases where only 7 people qualified the first round, forcing the 2nd one to be in fact the finals.
Gamemodes:
The first and more common gamemode is race. Races are simple rounds where the player has to run all the way to the final finish line and avoid obtacles that can delay the players speed. Some obstacles can push the player back, throw them off the map and in general delay their progress. A great addition to the game comes with each season and their aftermath. To elaborate, each new season the team adds
new mechanicks such as fans, gravity rooms and others that are exclusive to some levels. However, given that they were possitively received the team will then proceed to add these mechanicks in older levels and make them feel brand new.
The second type of games are the survival race. These are very similar with the normal races, however they re more punishing. In a normal race, falling off the map will cause the player to respawn in the nearest checkpoint, however in survival races, when a player drops off the map they end up being eliminated. Following that, there is the survival modes. Unlike the races the goal is not somewhere
the player can reach but instead they re tasked with the purpose of surviving a small ammount of tasks. These are minigames that require the player to survive on a platform while avoiding upcomming projectiles that are directed towards them. In other games the floor indicates various shapes and the player will have to memorise which is where so that when the screen displays the icon the player will be standing
on the right space. There's another more competitive mode where the players half are spawned normal some with a tail and the task is to have a tail by the end of the time. Last but not least the last gamemodes are team based attacks. Unlike team runs in multiplayer the game teams people together for small goals. The task usually appears as task 3 and 4. On the third level the teams are seperated in three groups where
one team will be eliminated and on the fourth round, its two teams for the survival of one. The goal is to end up among the top in order to qualify the round. Some rounds require to capture points, cross through rings, roll a ball faster or even play a game of jinx or capture the tail.
Collectables
the game has a season pass that rewards the player with cosmeticks and currency based on how much they proceeded on the season pass. The levels are required by gainning EXP which is given to the player based on their performance during the game. For each minigame that the player qualifies gains a certain ammount of exp. Furthermore, the faster the player qualifies the more points they gain.
Cosmeticks are also included on the season pass such as skins, emotes and player banners. These items can also be purchased from the store through currency or crown points. Crown points are the ammount of crowns the players earned through out their time with the game.
The Final Thought
Overall fall guys ultimate knockout is a fun and pleasant game. The parkour challenges are easy but can easily turn competitive as the players will have to deal with hustles and ofcourse the other players who re also competing. Playing solo or playing with a team is a complete different experience as playing with friends bring a whole new experience of fun. Playing with strangers can become abit
frustrating as teammates may underperform causing the player to fail to qualify. The game really cheap and everyone can play it as it's really accessible. last but not least in 2021 the game became Cross platform allowing the players to play with each other even if they re from different platforms such as Xbox, playstation, Nintendo switch or PC.
