creepy place known as the Maw and the Phone game called Very little Nightmares took place in a different area known as the Nest. This time however the game expands the universe by
taking place somewhere else, and that is the Pale city.

Gameplay

The Gameplay of little nightmares is very simple and thats something that makes the game very appealing. It doesnt need to be complicated as it knows what it wants to be
Tarsier Studio understood what made the first one and its DLC succesfull and proceeded on polishing their formula while also searching of ways to improve it. The game is simple, you die
if an enemy hits your character, dropping from high areas and falling into death traps. The chracater you control is always one shot. In every level you try to proceed as stealthy as possible
in order to avoid being detected. You control the character of Mono a new character who wears a paperbag on his head who according to his description wants to hide his identity from something
or someone. During your adventure the characer from the original Little Nightmares known as Six also joins the player on this adventure however she is an AI and the
player has no control over her. At the same time the game does not punish th player if Six makes noise or if she is not hiding like the player (in most scenarios though she stays hidden and avoid obstacles)
. The gameplay of Mono differs from Six's in terms of abilities outside of the normal gameplay. With normal gameplay I am refering to sprint, crouch, jump, climp, slide and picking up items. These
commands act the same as the original game. The new abilities the sequel brought to the table are unique to the game.Unlike the first game, Mono gains more abilities the further he proceeds on his
journey, however these skills in most cases are unique to their own chapter. The most noticable change is that Mono can pick items and use them as a weapon. As seen in the trailers Mono is capable of
using items found in stages to break his way inside rooms or to even defend himself from upcomming enemies. Another way of dealing with enemies as Mono is with the use of torch. Similar to the mechanic
used in Little Nightmares DLC Secret of the Maw where the Run Away Kid was using his torch
in order to kill the shadow puppets, here Mono obtains a torch and uses it on order to prevent the Mannequins from moving towards him as they cannot move if theres a light on them. Furthermore in other
chapters Mono obtains a remote control and he can use is on the televisions in order to use them as portals, similar to a game called Portal. You link the two televisions together and Mono is able to pass through
them, at the same time he can use the televisions as distraction to avoid being detected from the enemies of that chapter. Last but not least the teamwork element between Mono and Six. The game allows the
to call for Six when he needs her aid. With a press of a button Mono calls her to either approach a location he wasnt her to or do a specific action. Six is programmed to be dependable so in most of the cases
she will know how to act. Whether is to activate a lever or boost Mono to a higher location she will do it automatically BUT in the case she doesnt you can just call for her help.

Collectables

Game'hats Little Nightmares 2 has two types of collectables for the players to go out and discover. The first type of collectables is about the hats that Mono can equiped on his head. Theres a total of 12 types of hats
however 2 of them are only obtainable throught the DLC Nomes attic. These hats are scattered across all of the chapters, and almost all of them are needed if the player is going for 100% completion. Changing hats
is available at any time , the only thing needed is to open the pause menu and go to the hat selection. The other type of collectable is known as Glitch Remain and there is a total of 18 of them scattered across
chapters. These glitches look like children who must have had a bad encounter in the pale city. Theres plenty of theories of what they might be, but the one that sees to be more accurate is that these are the children
who were used in the short comics created to advertise the game. The basis of the theory seems to be based on the fact that in the comics some children seemigly met their demise in locations where glitching children appeared
in game. A few example is that in the hospital, in the comics a girl tried to escape the room she was locked in by digging a hole with spoons in the ground, when she was finally out the boss of the chapter seemed to be on top of her
and thats where the comic ended indicating that the girl did not escape. In game in hospital, there 's a glitch of a girl whose hair resembled the ones in the comics and can be found in an area near a room with spoons and a hole
in the middle. Another example , a comic had an overweight kid running away and hid himslef in the school lockers to avoid a dangerous encounter, however on the last panel, we can see that the person he tried to avoid is looking
through the lockers opening. Seemigly enough theres an overweight shadow glitch inside of a locker.
Collecting all of the glitches will not only reward the player with a couple of achievements for their trophy library , but they will also reward the player by unlocking a secret cutscene at the end of the game. That cutscene
is considered to be the secret ending of the game, that believe it or not was enough to shock the entire fanbase of the franchise.
