The sequel, took the formula and expanded it by alot. The sequel Woodle tree Adventure 2 made the game an open world where once again a curse has fallen into the world and all the sage trees
lost their colours as the water could not reach them. Once again the Sage tree request from the player to venture around the world to free the water sources from whatever prevents their water from flowing.
The gameplay is extremely close to the first one with the main difference of the world being expanded like 100 times over and the enemy variety increased by alot. The gameplay also met alot of changes
as there are shops that can unlock plenty of new abilities. For example, new mechanicks like double jump, wall bounce, leaf skating, triple jump and many others that are worth exploring. They
also expanded the customization with a variety of hats. In terms of weaponry the player can unlock more leaves who have similar abilities and shields. Unlike before the players are not one shot by the enemies.
This time around Woodler's leaf indicates his it's life. The leaf will get shorter each time the player receives a hit. The player can survive a total of 2 hits, 3 if the shield item is equiped. The players health
Finding the water drops is more challenging than before as the water drops are not placed somewhere easy to spot. In order to find them each time the player reaches a new area and enter that realm
they can follow the path with the arrows as they ll most likely help the players find the location where a drop will most likely be placed. Another new mechanism is the the checkpoint factor, which
allows the player to respawn in an area close to where he/she died. Unlike the first game, the fear of respawning back in the beggining will not occur. There's also side quest of finding and releasing
prisonners and even platforming challenging quests. The last thing added to the maps is collectables that are scattered everywhere in the world and upon finding them they will be placed in
woodler's house. The camera is greatly improved and the level design went on another level. The story even increased abit, as the objective is not just go for the water, but Woodler must also
discover that there is a major danger that threatens the world, thus the new enemy variety. The music is good and calm and the gameplay is smooth. The developers also went a step further by
introducing a 4 player multiplayer. 3 other heroes can join Woodler for his quests. These are the dog, the fox and something that resembles a rock or a bush not sure what it is. Unlike Woodler,
the rest of the heroes are one shot, and everything they collect will go in the pockets of Woodler.
The negative thing about Woodler adventure 2 is the fact that it's multiplayer is not as good as it may sound. The games camera whilst in multiplayer is really bad. Unlike older games that used a
zoomed out camera angle from above to fit all the players (Such as Diablo, super hero squad, marvel alliance and ohers.) Woodler adventure 2, has it own philosophy. This game instead, pulls a single player
camera focus. In other words the camera only focusses on the main player AKA player 1 and ignores all the others. This can easily create confusion as other players can easily drop off screen and probably die.
They can always use a button to respawn closer to the player but it s not enjoyable as the camera will most likely always lose focus from the ohter players. The other heores cannot travel the distance , because
in case of them going far away, they'll instatlly respawn near player one. In platforming the last thing the player wants is for the camera to mess things up for the player.
Overall, this is a fun game, it's something really cheap and it will grant the player atleast 4 hours of game experience. A bundle containing both is always available, and there's
always a bundle with other Chubby pixel properties such as suicide Guy. It'srecommended, to download the free app containing the first game just to see if its a game of your liking.
It should be kept in mind that the gameplay wilst on a phone design wont be the same as a console or pc, but the fundementals will be there. Once again both games have a simple and clean
platforming sections, the heroes and villains look really nice and for it's size and price there are a lot of things available for the player to discover. The main issue on both games is
the camera in the first game, and the camera whilst on multiplayer on the second game.
